This class is in a dance studio academic set up, where you will learn the 3 very basic fundamental foot patterns of Salsa dancing. This is your 1) basic step, 2) the right turn, and 3) the cross body lead. You will also be introduced to basic music timing and understanding how to stay in the rythym of salsa dancing. Los Angeles Style means breaking on beat # 1.
This 6 weeks series of an hour and a half each, is run through SMC, so you must pre-pay and commit to the 6 weeks. School policy is that you may not pay per class. You can register by calling direct to SMC 310-434-3400 or in this website. You must wear dance sneakers, sway bottoms dance shoes or rubber sole shoes, as Santa Monica College is very protective of their beautiful wood floors.
